2,102 Issues Caught Before DSA Review in a K-12 Whole Site Modernization
Cross-discipline code violations, accessibility gaps, and MEP coordination conflicts flagged early to prevent costly redesign and plan-check delays.
The Project
A multi-building K-12 campus modernization with classroom upgrades, sitework, accessibility improvements, and MEP system replacements. The project required alignment across architectural, structural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and life-safety scopes under DSA oversight.
Sample Findings
Accessibility (CBC 11B)
Missing accessible routes between buildings, ramp slope conflicts, and toilet room clearances that violated turning radius requirements.
Life Safety & Egress
Exit signage gaps, inconsistent occupant load calculations, and corridor fire-rating details that conflicted between plans and specs.
Structural/Seismic
Seismic bracing omissions at new canopies and equipment platforms, plus detailing conflicts between structural sheets and architectural sections.
MEP Coordination
HVAC equipment clearances and duct routing conflicts with ceiling heights and lighting layouts across multiple buildings.
Value Delivered
"This review surfaced conflicts that would have triggered multiple DSA comment rounds. We fixed them once, before submittal."
